Christmas blessings

Congratulations to Leah and Alex
who have been blessed with a
precious new daughter, Zoe Athena, born Dec. 18.

Mom and baby are doing great and Alex is for sure one proud Daddy.

Nothing like a sweet new granddaughter
to make getting older seem perfectly wonderful.

Four generations: great, grand, daughters and kids

Cousins Kylee, Parker and Bram hanging out with Grandpa in San Clemente.
This is only the beginning...stay tuned for more adventures at Gma and Gpa's house.

A New Grandson

Aug. 25th was the arrival date of Parker Thomas Gee, our new grandson. We are super excited to get to know this precious little boy. Two days old and as perfect as can be.
Monica and Brian are the proud parents of this sweet little bundle.
A happy trio with Parker doing his best impression of Harrison Ford's sideways grin.
Our stay in the Chicago area wouldn't be complete without a dog at the famous Gene & Jude's Hotdog stand, served with fries right on top of the dog....yum!

The Final Days

A drive by shooting of Mount Shasta. Arrival in Northern Calif. town of Willows to visit Lorraine's sister, Julie and her family. Congrats to Darren who just graduated from Chico State!
Always a special treat is Uncle Dennis' good BBQ roast
We had a great visit with Julie and her beautiful daughter Leeann.
Next stop in the bay area to visit our long time friends the McVey's.
Greg, Lynn and daughter Cayla moved into their completely remodeled new home last year and it was a treat to see how gorgeous it turned out. They made us feel so welcomed we wanted to move right in with them in their lovely craftsman style home!
Although our drive home was quick and trouble free it was sad to return to the reality of So Cal freeways and the end of our wonderful time together.
We thank God for His protection and gift to us for the time and fun we had together.

Fun, interesting and cute things along the way.

This billboard sums up the trip for us. :-) Transparent water in babbling creek

Floral close ups
This little guy was less than an inch wide
Two inch tall Tabasco bottle and yummy raw oysters....delicious!!

Heading South on the Lewis & Clark Trail

We made it back to U.S. soil and kicked back at Grayland Beach on the Washington coast. Beach combing was the big event there.

Tom actually took the time to stop at a historical marker...but of course, it was about Lewis and Clark. Crossing the Columbia River into the charming town of Astoria, Oregon.

Camping at Fort Stevens State Park (on the very most northwestern tip of Oregon)and riding through the forest on miles of beautiful bike trails has been one of the highlights of the trip
Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wild Sockeye Salmon on the BBQ for dinner...YUM!
Leaving the lovely Oregon coast behind.
A meaningful moment for Lorraine at her mother's gravesite.
Next stop, an enjoyable visit with Tom's Uncle Jim, Aunt Marciel and cousin Mike in Albany.
We made it in time for an evening of worship at John Courson's church in Jacksonville, Oregon.
The music was wonderful and the church grounds are amazingly beautiful as seen in the next photo. Applegate church has an outdoor amphitheater seating several thousand and is beautifully landscaped. A nice place to end the day. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Last Day in Canada

Our last walk around the city of Victoria. Dinner at the Sticky Wicket Pub and Restaurant....the coolest place with 2 sand volleyball courts on the roof deck. A mixture of Ireland and Baja at the same time.

The seaplanes take off and land in the harbor every few minutes...very entertaining to watch.
Our harbor view with the Olympic Mountain range of Washington in the back ground. This picture was taken at 9 at night...love that long day of sunlight.
Leaving this morning on the ferry boat back to the US. What a great time we have had meeting many friendly and hospitable Canadians.

Three days in upper Vancouver Island, Part 3

The surf break south of Tofino known as Long Beach... ...really,really, really long!
Tom is deciding it's a good idea to stay dry on the beach and leave the freezing water to the orcas.Shell collecting is prohibited in the Pacific Rim National Park but that doesn't mean I can't take a photo. :-) OK, it's a bit blurry but this was a drive-by of mama and baby bear along side the road.
A gorgeous creekside stop on the road back to Victoria
