Homeward Bound

It's coming to an end but we are squeezing every last bit of fun out of our trip. With a lot of distance to cover through Nevada we made an early get away and covered 200 miles before breakfast. The pay off was a delicious meal at Jax, in Truckee, a Food Network suggestion. Sweet! Then time to enjoy a gorgeous day at Lake Tahoe. Our last night camping and you can see Tom is excitedly anticipating his buffalo steak!

Views and Vistas

Our drive on the way to Sun Valley, Idaho through the Sawtooth Mountain range today was beautiful. So the pictures will tell our story. Now off to Nevada.

Hi Dee Ho Idaho!

The beautiful mountains of Glacier were covered in a fresh dusting of snow but we were happy to leave and move to sunshine and warmth further south. Driving through several gorgeous valleys and high mountain passes we arrived in Idaho. Our campsite on the North Fork of the Salmon River is a historic site previously surveyed by Lewis and Clark. Boy, did those guys get around and we are having fun doing the same thing (in the comfort of our cozy motor home, I might add).

The Slide Out Slow Down

After many perfect days in a row we experienced a reality check. Our stay at Glacier was much different than we had expected. A cold rain storm, wind, lightning, snow forecast, no cell service, an isolated camp ground and a malfunction in our slide out caused us to slow down and be patient. We spent 24 hours trying to figure out how to fix the slide out that would not retract. We were truly stranded! Thankfully, Brent, a mobile rv repair guy drove 70 miles to assist us and solved our problem...and then we were off down the road again. God taught us that in our trials He is closer than ever.

Montana Magnifique!

Traveling 550 miles on Highway 2 across the top of Montana proved to be very similar to Highway 1 in Baja...full of surprises! Pavement ends, dirt road begins, construction for miles, Indian territory, coyote darting across the road right in front of our rv and then of course, beautiful open vistas with not a soul in sight. We played country music at full volume the whole way and made it to Glacier National Park just in time for a mountain lightning storm. At dusk five adult elk and two playful calves came into the meadow where we were camped. Priceless! Thank you God for getting us here safely.

Not-So-Bad-Lands

Camping on Lake Sakakawea in Lewis and Clark State Park was a great way to experience the Badlands of North Dakota. Blue skies, puffy white clouds, open grass lands and a lazy afternoon to bike, read and take a nap. We love this time together!

Dakota Gone Wild

Had some nice sightings today starting with gas for $3.39...sweet! Then on to the North Dakota Badlands where we saw wild horses with a frisky colt, jumpin' prairie dogs and lazy buffalo. Camping in Theodore Roosevelt National Park tonight on the Little Missouri River in the shade of cottonwood trees. Ahhhhh, feels great.

Twice is Nice

That makes it two perfect days in a row. Sunshine, puffy clouds, a visiting geese family, bike ride, SUP, a nap and spectacular sunset...couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you God "twice"!

Minnesota Twins Win!

A beautiful day for baseball at Target Field in Minneapolis. We bought great tickets from a scalper named "Frank the Bank". The good price made up the for huge parking fee for our rv! Overall, the ball park, game and twin cities get 2 thumbs up!
