Heading South on the Lewis & Clark Trail

We made it back to U.S. soil and kicked back at Grayland Beach on the Washington coast. Beach combing was the big event there.

Tom actually took the time to stop at a historical marker...but of course, it was about Lewis and Clark. Crossing the Columbia River into the charming town of Astoria, Oregon.

Camping at Fort Stevens State Park (on the very most northwestern tip of Oregon)and riding through the forest on miles of beautiful bike trails has been one of the highlights of the trip
Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wild Sockeye Salmon on the BBQ for dinner...YUM!
Leaving the lovely Oregon coast behind.
A meaningful moment for Lorraine at her mother's gravesite.
Next stop, an enjoyable visit with Tom's Uncle Jim, Aunt Marciel and cousin Mike in Albany.
We made it in time for an evening of worship at John Courson's church in Jacksonville, Oregon.
The music was wonderful and the church grounds are amazingly beautiful as seen in the next photo. Applegate church has an outdoor amphitheater seating several thousand and is beautifully landscaped. A nice place to end the day. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Last Day in Canada

Our last walk around the city of Victoria. Dinner at the Sticky Wicket Pub and Restaurant....the coolest place with 2 sand volleyball courts on the roof deck. A mixture of Ireland and Baja at the same time.

The seaplanes take off and land in the harbor every few minutes...very entertaining to watch.
Our harbor view with the Olympic Mountain range of Washington in the back ground. This picture was taken at 9 at night...love that long day of sunlight.
Leaving this morning on the ferry boat back to the US. What a great time we have had meeting many friendly and hospitable Canadians.

Three days in upper Vancouver Island, Part 3

The surf break south of Tofino known as Long Beach... ...really,really, really long!
Tom is deciding it's a good idea to stay dry on the beach and leave the freezing water to the orcas.Shell collecting is prohibited in the Pacific Rim National Park but that doesn't mean I can't take a photo. :-) OK, it's a bit blurry but this was a drive-by of mama and baby bear along side the road.
A gorgeous creekside stop on the road back to Victoria

Three Days in Upper Vancouver Island (part 2)

Wow what Beautiful Country!
Best Seafood Chowder yet at Mrs. Mattersons house in Ucluelet!
