Catalina Holiday 2014

In celebration of Lorraine's 60th birthday we took a 3 day trip to Catalina. It turned out to be the perfect way to relax and enjoy the great weather on the quaint island of Catalina. The Catalina Express out of Dana Point Harbor made for a quick jaunt across the water and then we jumped right into vacation mode.

We settled into our beautiful villa in Hamilton Cove and
felt like we were on a honeymoon in the Mediterranean.
The first event was a Zipline adventure for Lorraine.
                                                            Weeeee, so much fun!!!!
Coming in for a landing.
While Lorraine was zip lining, Tom went to a local shop and bought some fresh swordfish to BBQ at the Villa. We ate dinner enjoying the lovely view overlooking the bay.  Beautiful!
And THE BEST SWORDFISH EVER, I might add!
Our second day started off with a paddle down the coast in a kayak made for two.  Didn't get a picture of that but it was nice because the water was warm and clear.
Afterwards, we soaked up the sun and got a light lunch at the Descanso Beach Club before heading to the cabanas. Cabanas, you say???
Yes, both of us got massages at the cabanas overlooking the ocean. The breeze, the sound, the view, the rejuvenating touch and hot rocks...ahhhhhhh! What a birthday treat!

 Italian dinner at Bella Portafino
What a gorgeous night and fun way to usher in the 6th decade for Lorraine

Relaxing is the name of the game today. Beach front lounge chairs at Descanso Beach, chair side service, complimentary strawberry smoothies, a float in the warm water, lunch and margaritas, a couple of naps with lots of sunshine...perfect!

Adios Catalina, it's been a quick but super fun and memorable getaway.
