Prince Edward Island

Here is a picture of a postcard of the 8 mile bridge to Prince Edward Island from New Brunswick. It didn't look that way to us riding on top of it, our view was like the pic below. But it was fast and smooth and nearly empty. Sweet!

Arriving on Prince Edward Island we were greeted by Anne of Green Gables and charming lighthouses on every rocky point.

Lunch at this Lobster Barn Pub was where we began our quest to find the best lobster roll.

Forty years ago in Maine I had a mouthwatering bite of a friend's lobster roll and have craved one ever since. Being in the Maritime Provinces has allowed me to experience this seafood delight once again. So now, it's lobster roll very day as you can see from the pics. So yummy!

So we headed onward to check out this quaint island and then camped at Cornwall on the ocean front.

We made stops at Cows Creamery for local made ice cream, the PEI Preserve Company for fresh jam and tea and the Gateway Village for shopping. Tom had some fun with his comical acts along the way.

We enjoyed driving through the scenic countryside and meeting the lovely Islanders of PEI. They go out of their way to show kindness to tourists and we were blessed to be recipients of their friendly  hospitality. I missed the opportunity to get pics of the kind people we met but here are a few photos of their beautiful island.

We enjoyed driving through the scenic countryside and then came across this place to camp. Can you imagine anything better? Camping and golfing at Lord Selkirk's Highland Greens!

First we got Blue Boy settled in with a view of the 9th green. Then off we went for a twilight round of golf on the picturesque Scotish links.

And just for the record, Lorraine actually drove a bit on this trip even though it was only a golf cart.

WooHoo, Tom played a great round of golf and finished up with a par on the ninth hole.
That was so much fun! What great day!

Good night Prince Edward Island. We have loved seeing your beautiful countryside. Off tomorrow to catch a ferry ride to Nova Scotia.
