7th Inning Stretch in Illinois

Yay! Time for fun with the Gee family. Our beautiful daughter Monica and her hard working hubby Brian are parents to these three darling grandkids. So nice to be able to touch and hug everyone after making do with FaceTime for months. We were thrilled to spend the next 5 days together with Parker, Nolan and little Avery.

The weather was perfect for an afternoon park play time and walk around Lake Glen Ellyn. Followed by a back yard BBQ with all the Gee Family. Making memories we'll never forget.

Now it's time to "take me out to the ball game" for all the Gee family. Brian got tickets to see the Kane County Cougars, which is the minor league team for the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was the first big baseball experience for the kids, complete with hot dogs, peanuts, cracker jacks and cotton candy. The grand finale included a walk on the field and fireworks making a happy and successful night. We may have just created a new generation of baseball fanatics!

We had many sweet hours of hangin out with these precious kids. Whether it was backyard playtime or snuggling on the couch, we treasure each moment with them.

No trip to Chicago would be complete without a meal at Portillo's,  yum!

The adults did slip out for an evening of fine dining at A Toda Madre Restaurant in Glen Ellyn. The Mexican cuisine was so unique and delicious that the cameraman wasn't quick enough to get a photo before it was gone. Now if we can just get one of these in San Clemente!!!

With a few hours left before we had to leave, Monica and Lorraine made quick work of sewing a new dress for Avery. Looks like we've got the fourth generation seamstress in the making. Avery couldn't have been happier with the finished product as she spins and twirls in her purdy birdie dress.

Sad to say good bye but so thankful to have had this time to spend with our special loved ones.
Thank you Monica and Brian for being so willing to open your home and share your lives with us. We couldn't love you more! Our cross country trips will never be complete without making memories with you. And thanks again for your driveway camping spot.
